For most people, when they get in a vehicle they know where they are going whether is it going to work, school, or to a friend’s house. People have a destination in mind when travelling in any mode of transportation. It is beginning with the end in mind. Where are you going or where do you want to be?
Imagine going to an unfamiliar location. Do you figure out how to get there when you get close or before you go? GPS is a wonderful way to find where to go and it is mostly accurate. Do you zoom in, make sure you are going in the right direction, and then press start? Having an idea of where to go helps in the long run to look for landmarks or roads you previously know.

For an established business, beginning with the end in mind would either be for a product idea, a campaign, or where is this year going to take you. Let’s say you have a product idea and are trying to find how to get to the end. Do you find funds immediately or get a clear budget after researching what you need to have the product in your hand how you want it. For those starting out, where do you want your business to end up? Begin with the end in mind means to start with a clear understanding of where you want to be or where an idea should be when it is over.
With the end in mind, you can take the steps needed to make sure you are going in the right direction to get to your goal. It is easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and walk the path toward your goal only to realize it has a lot of hurdles while the other path that goes to the same location doesn’t have as many hurdles.
Having a plan to get to your goal is critical. Researching the different passage points and hurtles that others may have faced will help in making a clear and direct route to success. To create your own destiny and secure the future, find the paths that will benefit all parties involved.
“Your most important work is always ahead of you, never behind.”
